The Perfusion Nursing Course provides targeted, hands-on training for supporting cardiopulmonary bypass and aortic valve replacement safely and efficiently. Key topics include understanding circuit components, performing BSA and priming calculations, managing anticoagulation, completing pre-bypass checklists, executing initiation protocols, conducting continuous monitoring, responding to emergencies, facilitating weaning and decannulation, and delivering structured ICU handovers to optimise results and enhance interdisciplinary communication.
