What will I learn?
Gain comprehensive knowledge of macular and RPE physiology, early dry AMD mechanisms, and essential biomarkers for improved detection and monitoring. Master the use of in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo models, oxidative stress and functional assays, and assessment of emerging therapies, while developing strong skills in experimental design, statistical analysis, ethics, and translational research planning.
Elevify advantages
Develop skills
- Analyze early dry AMD mechanisms including drusen, RPE stress, and complement injury.
- Select optimal models for AMD such as in vitro, animal, and organoid systems for efficient testing.
- Apply oxidative stress and RPE function assays to produce robust publishable data.
- Design ethical AMD studies with proper power, statistics, blinding, and controls.
- Evaluate and compare emerging AMD therapies including gene, cell, antioxidant, and complement treatments.
