What will I learn?
You'll start with the fundamentals of fabric selection, tool use, and pattern reading, then move into precise body measurement and fitting techniques. From there, you'll master hand and machine sewing, draft your own pattern blocks, and construct fully lined and structured garments. You'll build period costumes spanning the Renaissance through the 1930s and apply embellishment methods including beading, embroidery, and fabric dyeing. Advanced modules cover theatrical tailoring, armor construction, and quick-change engineering. You'll also develop professional skills in production scheduling, budgeting, and collaboration with designers and directors.
