What will I learn?
You will learn how to classify burns by depth and size, calculate fluid resuscitation volumes using established formulas, and manage burn shock during the critical first 48 hours. The course covers wound cleansing, debridement, dressing selection, and topical antimicrobial therapy for all burn depths. You will develop skills in infection surveillance, sepsis recognition, and antimicrobial stewardship specific to burn patients. Surgical nursing responsibilities, including perioperative care and graft site management, are covered in detail. You will also gain practical strategies for managing burn pain, supporting psychological recovery, and coordinating rehabilitation and discharge planning.
