Blasting Techniques Course
from 4 to 360h flexible workload
certificate valid in your country

What will I learn?

This Blasting Techniques Course equips participants with hands-on skills to design and carry out safe, effective bench blasts using bulk ANFO. Key topics include explosive characteristics, charge calculations, burden and spacing determination, selection of hole diameter and depth, plus non-electric initiation timing. Learners will excel in controlling vibration, airblast, and flyrock, utilise rock mass data for better fragmentation, and adhere to structured processes for planning, communication, emergency handling, and meeting regulatory standards.

Elevify advantages

Develop skills

  • Design blast patterns by applying burden, spacing, and powder factor on site.
  • Optimise ANFO usage by selecting charge, VOD, and stemming for safe, effective blasts.
  • Assess rock masses using RQD, GSI, and joints to enhance bench blast results.
  • Manage blast effects by predicting vibration, airblast, and flyrock to safeguard structures.
  • Conduct safe blasts by planning, initiating, and recording non-electric bench blasts in compliance with regulations.
