Ecological Transition Training
Ecological Transition Training equips environmental professionals with practical tools to evaluate climate risks, design green and blue infrastructure, plan low-carbon mobility, and drive equitable, resilient urban changes in exposed coastal cities. This course covers vulnerability assessments using GIS and open data, adaptive land use and building strategies, sustainable transport planning, and community-engaged, financeable adaptation initiatives to combat heat, flooding, sea level rise, drainage issues, and erosion.

What will I learn?
Ecological Transition Training provides hands-on tools for tackling climate risks in coastal cities, including heatwaves, floods, sea level rise, drainage failures, and erosion. Participants learn to design green and blue infrastructure like parks and wetlands, adapt land use and buildings for resilience, plan low-carbon mobility options such as walkable and bike-friendly networks, assess vulnerabilities using GIS and open data, and execute, monitor, and promote fair, funding-ready adaptation projects in partnership with communities and leaders.
