What will I learn?

The Specimen Collection Course provides straightforward, hands-on training to assist you in collecting blood, urine, and swab samples correctly and safely. You will learn venipuncture methods, selecting the right tubes, the order of draw, sequences for blood cultures and coagulation, patient identification and consent, rules for fasting and preparation, preventing hemolysis, criteria for rejecting samples, and appropriate storage and transport to ensure reliable results and minimise errors.
