What will I learn?
Gain hands-on skills to confidently design short-range fibre optic links. Master choices between plastic optical fibre (POF) and glass fibre, coupling techniques, alignment methods, dispersion effects, attenuation factors, and building precise optical loss budgets and link calculations. Practice selecting components, designing 0-5V driver and receiver circuits, analysing noise and signal-to-noise ratio, plus safety and reliability for dependable real-world performance.
