What will I learn?
You will learn how to read fabrication drawings, apply geometry and trigonometry to plate layout, and develop accurate flat patterns using radial line, parallel line, and triangulation methods. The course covers thermal and mechanical cutting, plate rolling, press brake forming, and dished head inspection. You will practise shell course assembly, nozzle fit-up, joint edge preparation, and dimensional inspection before welding. Welding process selection, distortion control, post-weld heat treatment, and weld procedure specifications are covered in full. You will also study pressure vessel code requirements, material traceability, hydrostatic testing, and NDE methods used to verify weld integrity.
