Sampling and Estimation Course

Sampling and Estimation Course
from 4 to 360h flexible workload
valid certificate in your country

What will I learn?

This practical course on sampling and estimation equips you to create representative samples, develop solid sampling frames, and select from simple random, systematic, stratified, or cluster sampling methods. You will learn to determine appropriate sample sizes, account for design effects, minimize bias and nonresponse, implement weighting and calibration techniques, compute variances for complex designs, perform simulations, and effectively communicate estimates, uncertainties, and study limitations.

Elevify advantages

Develop skills

  • Design complex samples using stratified, cluster, and systematic methods quickly.
  • Calculate sample sizes to manage margin of error, power, and design effects.
  • Estimate parameters under complex designs with weights, ICC, and advanced variance techniques.
  • Address bias and nonresponse through weighting, calibration, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Conduct survey simulations to evaluate estimator bias, coverage, and confidence intervals.
