Addiction Psychologist Course

What will I learn?
This training for addiction psychologists will help you improve your knowledge about addiction, especially if you are already working as a psychologist. You will learn about how addiction affects the brain, the difference between depending on something in your mind and in your body, and about different types of addictive substances. You will also become good at using tools to assess people with addiction, and ways to help them like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and talking to them to encourage them to change (motivational interviewing). You will also learn how to check if the treatment is working well. This training will teach you how to make a good treatment plan, including getting support from other services, and using research to help you in your work.
