What will I learn?
This ASME Training course provides a practical overview of ASME BPVC Section VIII, B31.3, and ASME II Part D. Participants will learn to calculate wall thickness, choose pipe schedules, apply joint efficiency, and size shells and heads. The course covers verifying allowable stresses, planning hydro and pneumatic tests, handling corrosion allowances, and applying inspection, NDE, and documentation controls for safe, code-compliant projects.
Elevify advantages
Develop skills
- ASME vessel design: Quickly size shells and heads using UG-27 and UG-32 formulas.
- B31.3 piping design: Accurately select pipe schedules and wall thickness per code.
- Material stress selection: Confidently retrieve allowable stresses from ASME II Part D.
- Code testing and QA: Plan hydrotests, NDE, and documentation for ASME compliance.
- Nozzle and branch design: Apply reinforcement rules to prevent local overstress.
