What will I learn?
This course provides a practical overview of magma generation, movement, storage, and solidification in arc environments. Participants will study essential processes including mantle melting, magma differentiation, thermodynamics, dike and sill emplacement, magma chamber development, and rock textures. Learners will combine field observations, petrologic analysis, and geochemical data to create detailed cross-sections, and apply this knowledge to volcanic hazards, resource evaluation, and technical reporting.
