What will I learn?

This course equips you with hands-on skills to measure distances, pace accurately, and navigate 1–3 km routes confidently. You will learn to choose and orient topographic maps, adjust for magnetic declination, plan secure route segments, and follow precise bearings. Additionally, you will practise detailed field recording, risk assessment, and emergency protocols to ensure your navigation remains efficient, repeatable, and safe across varied terrains.
