What will I learn?
Gain a strong understanding of macular and RPE physiology, early dry AMD mechanisms, and key biomarkers for early detection and monitoring. Master the use of in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo models, oxidative stress and functional assays, and evaluation of emerging therapies, while enhancing experimental design, statistical analysis, ethics, and translational research planning.
Elevify advantages
Develop skills
- Analyze early dry AMD mechanisms including drusen, RPE stress, and complement injury.
- Select optimal AMD models such as in vitro, animal, and organoid systems for fast testing.
- Apply oxidative stress and RPE function assays to generate robust, publishable data.
- Design ethical, powered AMD studies with rigorous stats, blinding, and controls.
- Evaluate and compare emerging AMD therapies like gene, cell, antioxidant, and complement.
