What will I learn?

This course provides a comprehensive overview of CPU organisation, pipelines, register files, and ALU design, progressing to caches, memory hierarchy, buses, and memory-mapped I/O. Participants will examine interrupts, DMA, latency management, and power optimisation techniques, alongside practical trade-offs, timing analysis, and documentation practices to confidently design efficient embedded systems.
