What will I learn?
This course provides practical training in ship hydrostatics, GM and KG management, free surface effects, and longitudinal strength for a 190m container vessel. Participants will learn to plan safe loading, ballast, trim, and draft operations, handle heavy weather, avoid hazardous intermediate stages, comply with SOLAS and classification rules, utilize stability software, and maintain detailed records with professional checklists.
Elevify advantages
Develop skills
- Perform ship stability computations including GM, GZ, and hydrostatics for actual voyages.
- Manage heavy weather by modifying ballast, course, and speed to minimize roll and stress.
- Develop container loading plans that balance stacks, trim, and draft per class and port standards.
- Conduct arrival and departure verifications for stability, ballast progression, and safety buffers.
- Ensure regulatory adherence to SOLAS, IMO, and class standards with advanced stability software.
