What will I learn?
Gain foundational knowledge in macular and RPE physiology, early dry AMD pathology, and biomarkers for detection. Master selection of in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo models, oxidative stress and functional assays, and assessment of new therapies, while building expertise in experimental design, statistical analysis, ethics, and translational research strategies.
Elevify advantages
Develop skills
- Analyze early dry AMD mechanisms including drusen, RPE stress, and complement injury.
- Select optimal models for AMD research such as in vitro, animal, and organoid systems.
- Apply oxidative stress and RPE function assays to produce reliable data.
- Design ethical AMD studies with proper statistics, blinding, and controls.
- Evaluate emerging AMD therapies including gene, cell, antioxidant, and complement options.
