What will I learn?
You will implement every layer of a credit card authorizer in Java, starting with the payment domain model and repository layer, then moving into the core rule engine that evaluates velocity limits, card status, and available balance. You will build an ISO 8583 codec that converts raw bytes into typed domain objects and back. A non-blocking Java NIO server will handle concurrent TCP connections from acquiring systems. You will also add structured logging, Micrometer metrics, and integration tests that validate the full message pipeline. Finally, you will package the authorizer as a Docker image and apply JVM tuning for low-latency payment processing.
