This course equips volunteer firefighters with vital skills in fire behaviour recognition, incident size-up, hose and nozzle operations, personal protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus usage, search and rescue procedures, and effective crew communication. What will I learn?
Volunteer Firefighter Initial Training delivers essential practical skills for confident responses to small-structure and garage fires. Trainees master scene evaluation, risk analysis, secure perimeter management, fire dynamics and building construction knowledge, proper PPE and SCBA handling, primary search techniques with victim removal, plus effective hose deployment, nozzle control, and water supply methods for efficient and secure firefighting operations.
