What will I learn?
This Control Systems Course teaches you how to model a permanent magnet DC motor, derive transfer functions, and set realistic performance and reliability targets for conveyor speed control. You will design and tune PID and state-space controllers, assess robustness, disturbance rejection, and sensitivity, and develop implementation-ready solutions with clear testing, documentation, and embedded deployment steps.
Elevify advantages
Develop skills
- Specify control performance: set overshoot, settling time, and speed error targets.
- Design and tune robust PID loops for DC motor speed with anti-windup protection.
- Build and analyse state-space controllers with LQR, pole placement, and observers.
- Evaluate robustness using Bode, Nyquist, sensitivity, and Monte Carlo analysis.
- Plan tests and document control designs for reliable embedded conveyor systems.
