What will I learn?
This course covers the full scope of transfusion medicine, including blood component preparation, donor screening, compatibility testing, and transfusion reaction management. You will study ABO, Rh, and other clinically significant blood groups and the immunologic principles guiding safe product selection. The curriculum addresses massive transfusion protocols, viscoelastic haemostatic assays, and damage-control resuscitation for haemorrhagic emergencies. Specialised modules cover neonatal and paediatric transfusion, oncology and transplant support, therapeutic apheresis, and coagulation disorder management. Emerging technologies such as pathogen inactivation, laboratory automation, and gene therapy are also examined.
